Biography of John Chambers

John T.

Chambers was born in 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, to John Turner 'Jack' and June Chambers. The Chambers family later moved to Kanawha City, West Virginia. At the age of nine, John was diagnosed with dyslexia, a learning disorder that affects reading, writing, and verbal communication.

However, with the help of specialized therapy, John was able to overcome his condition and live a fulfilling life.

He graduated from West Virginia University in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in humanities and natural sciences.

In 1974, Chambers obtained a Juris Doctor degree. He continued his education and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University in 1975.

From 1976 to 1982, John Chambers worked at IBM, and from 1982 until 1990, he was employed at Wang Laboratories.
