Biography of Billy Corgan

Billy Corgan is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, best known as the leader of the rock band "Smashing Pumpkins." Born on March 17, 1967, in Elk Grove, Illinois, Corgan was introduced to music at a young age by his father, Bill Corgan Sr., who was a blues guitarist.

By the age of 14, Corgan had already started playing the guitar, citing hard rock bands like Cheap Trick and Van Halen as his biggest influences.

In 1985, Corgan formed his first band, called The Marked, which played gothic metal music.

After performing several shows in the Chicago area, the band relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida, in hopes of furthering their career. However, the move did not bring much success, and the band disbanded, leading Corgan to return to his parents' home.
